Haines Mill, Self Catering |
|
There has been a watermill on this site since the 13th Century and Haines Mill has now been lovingly restored. Part of the property has a self contained suite of rooms for holiday accommodation comprising the large mill room with kitchenette and dining facility plus a double bed and bed settee. The en-suite shower room and toilet leads into the original granary room with high oak beamed ceilings and forming the additional double bedroom. The mill is nestled alongside its stream at the bottom of the beautiful Harley Valley, and close to the Radnor Forest in mid Wales, which provides great pleasure for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and all nature lovers alike. Golfers, also, appreciate the high altitude course in nearby Kington. Whilst the milling of corn is no longer an active process, good use is made of the associated buildings in the form of a Welsh woodcraft workshop. Mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086, New Radnor may be a misnomer, but it is a lovely place to visit, and peaceful too. 7bere is a feeling here of coming upon a place perhaps lost in time. It can be very calming indeed. Weekly bookings preferred. |
